Reinforced Sachs Performance clutch pressure plate 88 308 200 1243 / 883082 001243 BMW - 40mm / 9.45"
Reinforced clutch pressure plate for BMW group cars with a diameter of 240mm / 9.45"
The SACHS Performance clutch pressure plate stands out compared to the stock version by its higher transmissible torque and increased resistance to thrust loads. Depending on requirements, they are used with various clutch discs.
Thanks to a shorter release stroke, faster, sportier shifting is possible. This makes the Performance clutch particularly suitable for street tuning, endurance and mountain racing (e.g., Group N), and for vehicles frequently operating at maximum load.

Designed to make a difference
SACHS Performance clutches by ZF Race Engineering have provided measurable performance in tuning and motorsport for decades. The goal: to constantly improve and push the boundaries of the possible. From the lightest clutch in Formula 1 to proven systems in WRC, DTM, NASCAR, Le Mans, and the Dakar Rally - this knowledge goes directly into every Performance product. As a long-standing OE supplier for almost all leading manufacturers, SACHS combines racing experience with production expertise: larger torque reserves, precise dosing, and durable performance - tailored to numerous vehicle models and power configurations.
Why choose a reinforced Sachs Performance pressure plate?
1. Higher transmissible torque
This is a key benefit for those modifying the engine (e.g., via Chip-Tuning). Standard clutches often "slip" during rapid acceleration in high gears.
The pressure plate allows for full utilization of the engine's potential without energy loss. Power is delivered to the wheels instantly, which is essential in motorsport and dynamic street driving.
2. Increased clamping force
Thanks to the use of a stiffer diaphragm spring, the clutch disc is pressed against the flywheel with much greater force than in the stock solution.
Eliminates the risk of overheating and burning the disc under heavy load. This ensures a longer lifespan for the entire system, even if the car is regularly used on the track or in tough conditions.
3. Reduced stroke (Shorter release path)
The design of the Sachs Performance pressure plate shortens the distance required to fully disengage the clutch.
Faster gear changes. Reducing the clutch pedal reaction time allows for lightning-fast transitions between gears, resulting in better acceleration times and a sportier driving feel ("sharp" operating characteristics).
4. Easy replacement (Plug & Play)
Despite its performance nature, the pressure plate is designed to fit in place of the stock component.
Saves time and money on installation. It does not require complicated modifications to the gearbox bellhousing or the use of custom release bearings. Ideal for those seeking professional performance while maintaining factory mounting architecture.
