Complete Race Stage 1 clutch kit enabling the mating (swap / conversion) of the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine (7-bolt version) with the ZF GS6-53DZ HGU / HGK 6-speed manual gearbox used in BMW M57N2 diesel models (E90 / E91 / E92 325d / 330d) and its GS6X53DZ HGW / HGL xDrive variant. The kit includes a gearbox adapter plate, custom PMC Motorsport flywheel, reinforced Sachs Performance 883082.001243 clutch pressure plate (non-SAC / without self-adjustment), and a PMC 240 mm sintered clutch disc with 32.5x35-26N spline. Installation Manual

Bolt the flywheel to the crankshaft using the supplied bolts, torqued to 130 Nm (95.9 lb⋅ft) using threadlocker. Mount the clutch fork (dedicated to your gearbox) on the lower release bearing position (for dual-position bearings). A BMW M50 / M52 / M54 starter motor (not included) must be used with this adapter – prepare an opening for the starter motor in the transmission bellhousing. The PMC flywheel features its own ring gear, so an automatic transmission flexplate is not required.

No. The adapter is designed to eliminate the need to cut the bellhousing – only an opening for the starter motor needs to be made.

A clutch release bearing, clutch fork, and clutch slave cylinder dedicated to your gearbox, along with a BMW M50 / M52 / M54 starter motor (see question below). These parts are not included in the kit.

Which clutch is included in the kit?

A reinforced Sachs Performance 883082.001243 (88 308 200 1243) pressure plate with a diameter of 240 mm (9.45"), without self-adjustment, and a PMC 240 mm sintered clutch disc with a 32.5x35-26N spline (26 teeth) for the ZF GS6-53DZ gearbox.

What torque capacity does the Race Stage 1 kit handle?

The maximum torque capacity of the kit is 800 Nm (590 lb⋅ft).

Is the kit suitable for a daily driver?

The Race Stage 1 kit with a sintered disc is primarily intended for motorsport – clutch engagement is stiffer and more aggressive than with an organic disc. For a vehicle used primarily as a daily driver, we recommend the Stage 1 kit with the Sachs XTend clutch.

Can I use a different clutch?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport flywheel is designed for a 240 mm BMW OE type pressure plate – from BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / E46 M3 or Sachs Performance 883082.001243. ACT / Spec / Tanaci clutches are also commonly used – any aftermarket pressure plate must fit the BMW OE flywheel pattern (M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58).

Which starter motor should be used?

A BMW M50 / M52 / M54 starter motor – e.g., BMW OE 12 41 1 466 102, 12 41 1 712 937, 12 41 1 715 238, 12 41 1 735 524, 12 41 1 738 602, 12 41 1 738 604, 12 41 1 740 375, 12 41 1 740 378, 12 41 1 740 379, 12 41 2 344 247, or 12 41 2 354 709. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Does this adapter also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW transmissions (applies to adapters produced after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the standard flywheel must be replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter plate.

Yes. Every component in the kit is available for purchase separately – including the adapter with the flywheel without the clutch kit.

Can I purchase with 0% VAT?

Is the included manual sufficient for the complete swap?

The manual describes mating the engine to the transmission outside the car. Depending on your chassis, additional modifications may be required: engine mounts, bushings, firewall modifications, transmission tunnel clearance, and driveshaft length. We recommend professional installation.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel provides uncompromising throttle response at the expense of eliminating factory damping elements. This results in a more direct drivetrain operation, which may naturally increase gear chatter and mechanical transmission noise. This is a normal and expected characteristic in motorsport applications, resulting from the rigid mechanical connection between engine and drivetrain.
