SACHS Performance Clutch Disc - Organic, torsionally dampened

Clutch discs are subject to high loads and are complex components with a compact design. In addition to transmitting torque, they fulfill additional tasks such as dampening torsional vibrations, providing good operating comfort, and high heat resistance. Clutch discs with torsional springs act as a vibration damper between the engine and the gearbox.

Technology

Organic clutch friction material
The SACHS Performance clutch disc 881861.999707 with organic friction material has a higher thermal load capacity, is more resistant to high speeds, and has a higher friction coefficient than conventional organic clutch friction materials. It is also possible to transmit higher torques. This makes it extremely useful for all kinds of street tuning and for vehicles that often drive with the maximum permissible gross weight. Combined with the SACHS Performance clutch pressure plate, you get the ideal clutch for higher demands and the sporty, ambitious driver. Torsional vibration damper
Sprung SACHS Performance clutch discs are equipped with stronger torsional dampers to be able to transmit the engine's higher maximum torque. The torsionally dampened SACHS Performance clutch disc 881861.999707 dampens engine vibrations and protects the vehicle's gearbox thanks to its reinforced damper design. SACHS torsional vibration dampers are individually adapted to the characteristics of each engine and vehicle. This damping system consists of a friction device and a set of springs for driving and idling. Coil springs allow limited rotation between the crankshaft and the gearbox input shaft.

Clutch cushion spring
The cushion spring improves starting comfort and ensures even support of the clutch friction material. Cushion springs are wavy spring plate segments with a spring travel of up to approx. 1 mm, which are riveted to the clutch disc carrier plate on the gearbox side. For high-performance SACHS Performance clutch discs, the cushion spring is sometimes omitted in favor of a higher transmittable torque compared to a standard clutch disc.
