Step 1: Caliper Preparation ("Mirror" Configuration): Cayenne/Touareg calipers sit in a different position than on an Audi. To bleed them correctly: Swap the bleeder screws with the crossover pipe. Position them so that the bleeders are at the very top once mounted. Clean the mounting ears where the PMC bushings will be inserted.
Step 2: Knuckle Preparation (For UFO version): If converting from UFO brakes, you must cut off the "third ear" (the extra casting tab) with an angle grinder, as it blocks the new setup. Apply anti-corrosion paint to the cut area.
Step 3: Rotor Mounting and Centering: Use centering rings to align the rotor on the Audi hub. Temporarily secure the rotor with one lug bolt and a spacer to keep it stationary.
Step 4: The Core – Eccentric Bushings: This is the most important stage for brake geometry. Insert the 4 PMC bushings into the caliper ears. Place the caliper over the rotor and pass the long bolts through. Adjustment: Rotate the bushings to move the caliper up, down, or sideways. Goal: Center the rotor perfectly within the caliper slot and ensure the pads do not overhang the rotor edge. Apply blue Loctite and torque to 110–120 Nm.
Step 5: Hydraulics and Bleeding: Use braided steel lines (M10x1 thread). Bleed the system using fresh DOT 4/5.1 fluid.
Step 6: Bedding-in: For the first 200 km, avoid hard braking. Perform 10 decelerations from 80 km/h to 20 km/h to mate the pads to the rotor.
