The aluminum gearbox adapter plate has been designed to simplify gearbox installation as much as possible, avoiding radical actions such as cutting the entire gearbox bellhousing – only preparing the opening for the starter motor remains. The adapter plate requires the use of a PMC Motorsport custom flywheel matched to the selected gearbox (sold separately).

Installation should be performed by professionals with expertise in engine swaps and car modifications – in workshops and using properly adapted tools.
The adapter installation manual contains only basic knowledge necessary to physically connect the engine with the gearbox outside the car body.
Depending on the vehicle, additional modifications may be required, such as adjusting mounts, bushings, firewall, transmission tunnel, driveshaft length, etc.
We manufacture our adapters using fully recyclable materials.
The gearbox adapter plate requires the use of a PMC Motorsport custom flywheel matched to the selected gearbox (not included in the kit).
In ZF-5 (ZF 310 / ZF 320) and Getrag 250G / 420G gearboxes, slight enlargement (grinding) of the two upper mounting holes in the gearbox housing (bellhousing) is required – this modification does not affect engine and gearbox centering.
Gearboxes for petrol engines (ZF-5 and Getrag 250G / 420G) and diesel engines (M57 GS5-39DZ) have the same bolt pattern, but differ in mounting angle on the adapter. If the gearbox is set at the wrong angle after tightening, the installation must be corrected – a petrol gearbox was bolted into the place meant for a diesel gearbox or vice versa.
For Toyota JZ engines: 1JZ (1JZ-FSE, 1JZ-GE, 1JZ-GTE) and 2JZ (2JZ-FSE, 2JZ-GE, 2JZ-GTE), in VVT-i and non-VVT-i versions.
The adapter plate is universal and fits virtually all BMW gearboxes: manual petrol (ZF-5 ZF 310 / ZF 320, Getrag 250G, Getrag 420G, GS6-37BZ, GS6-17BZ, GS6-53BZ, GS6-45BZ), manual diesel (ZF S5D-280, GS5-39DZ, GS6-37DZ, GS6-53DZ, GS6-45DZ), automatic ZF 6HP and ZF 8HP, and dual-clutch Getrag DCT DKG GS7D36SG. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate is the most universal adapter available on the market, supporting virtually every BMW gearbox. In designing it, we made certain trade-offs – on Getrag 250 / Getrag 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF-5 gearboxes, the two upper mounting holes must be slightly enlarged (ground) in the gearbox housing (bellhousing). This modification does not affect engine and gearbox centering.

Toyota JZ OE starter motor without additional pinion cover. The starter motor is not included in the kit. The mounting method depends on the manufacturing year of the adapter plate:
a) adapter plates manufactured up to 2022 – starter motor is installed identically to original equipment (OE);
b) adapter plates manufactured from 2022 to 2025 – one of the starter mounting holes in the engine block must be enlarged: drill it with a drill bit to a diameter of ∅12.9–13.2 mm (0.507"–0.520") to a depth of 22 mm (0.866"), use the bushing from the set AN 335-M10 and tighten with an ISO 4762-M10x35 bolt;
c) adapter plates manufactured from January 2025 – the lower mounting hole in the starter motor must be enlarged to a diameter of ∅12–13 mm and the engine block threaded to M12x1.5.
Yes. The PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter plate is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes (applies to adapters produced after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter is used instead of a flywheel.
