The aluminum gearbox adapter plate has been engineered to make installing the ZF 8HP transmission as straightforward as possible. The torque converter adapter (included in the kit) mates the OEM Volvo automatic flexplate to the torque converter of your ZF 8HP transmission. Gearbox adapter plate thickness: 20 mm (0.78").

Installation should be carried out by professionals with expertise in engine swaps and vehicle modifications – in specialized workshops using properly adapted tools.
The adapter installation manual covers only the basic knowledge required to physically mate the engine to the gearbox outside the vehicle chassis.
Depending on your specific vehicle, additional modifications may be required, such as: adjusting mounts, engine bushings, firewall, transmission tunnel, driveshaft length, etc.

Installation manual
Mount the gearbox adapter plate to the engine block first. To mate the Volvo White block engine to the ZF 8HP transmission, you must use the automatic transmission flexplate / ring gear Volvo OE 1275375 (not included), the PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter (included), and the torque converter from your ZF 8HP transmission. Volvo OE 9454743 bolts are required to secure the flexplate (not included).
To mount the adapter plate, use the Volvo OE 1 005 821 977 starter motor (not included).
Mount the torque converter adapter to the Volvo automatic flexplate, and then bolt the ZF 8HP torque converter to it.

How is the ZF 8HP torque converter connected to the Volvo White block engine?
Using the PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter included in the kit. The torque converter adapter bolts directly to the OEM Volvo automatic flexplate OE 1275375, and then connects to the torque converter of your ZF 8HP transmission.
What additional parts do I need to purchase for installation?
The automatic transmission flexplate / ring gear Volvo OE 1275375, Volvo OE 9454743 bolts, and the Volvo OE 1 005 821 977 starter motor. To control the transmission, you will also need a standalone TCU controller with wiring harness and an 8HP gear selector/shifter – both are available in our catalog. These parts are not included in the kit.
