Who is this tank for?
For Patrol owners who drive off-road or on long trips and want genuinely more range, but don't want a 140–150 l expedition tank that lowers ground clearance, weighs almost 40 kg, and often requires modifications to the tow bar or chassis. The 110L tank is a sensible middle ground: more fuel with zero interference to the vehicle's structure.
Example: at 12 l/100 km fuel consumption, the extra 15 litres give roughly 125 km more range per tank, and a full tank allows around 900 km.

110L tank vs. the factory tank
The main tank in the Patrol Y60 and Y61 has a factory capacity of 95 litres. In some markets (including Australia) the Y61 was also offered with an auxiliary sub-tank of 30 l (diesel) or 36 l (petrol), but in Europe most vehicles run on the main tank alone. Our 110L tank replaces the main tank 1:1 and adds 15 l while keeping the original ground clearance and shield.
Installation – what to check
- Check the filler neck diameter. Two sizes were used at the factory: 42 mm (more common) and 36 mm. Our tank has 42 mm. If your original tank has a 36 mm neck, replace the rubber filler hose with a 42 mm one.
- Flush the inside of the tank with extraction petrol before installation to remove any manufacturing residue.
- Transfer the fuel level sender from the original tank, using the new gasket supplied.
- Fit onto the factory brackets and refit the original shield.
Note: with the original 36 mm filler neck, replacing the rubber filler hose is required. Without it the tank cannot be sealed properly.

Does the 110L tank fit the Nissan Patrol Y60 and Y61?
Yes. The tank is designed as a replacement for the main tank in the Nissan Patrol Y60 (GR) and Y61 (GR/GU). It mounts on the factory brackets, with no drilling or frame modifications.
How much fuel does the factory tank in the Nissan Patrol Y60/Y61 hold?
The factory main tank holds 95 litres. The 110L tank therefore gives 15 litres more, around a 16% increase in capacity.
Does the 110L tank sit lower than the original and reduce the Nissan Patrol's ground clearance?
No. The extra capacity was achieved without lowering the bottom of the tank below the level of the stock tank, so ground clearance and departure angle stay unchanged. The original tank shield also still fits.
What filler neck diameter does the tank have, and how do I check mine?
The tank has a 42 mm filler neck. Two diameters were used at the factory: 42 mm (more common) and 36 mm. Simply measure the outer diameter of the filler neck on your old tank, or the inner diameter of the rubber hose. At 36 mm, the rubber filler hose needs to be replaced.
Is a fuel level sender included?
The kit includes a new fuel level sender gasket. The sender itself transfers from the original tank – its mounting position in the 110L tank matches the factory one.
Does the tank have a baffle and vents?
Yes. The internal baffle limits fuel sloshing sideways during off-road driving and cornering, and the full set of vents allows the factory venting system to be connected without modifications.
Why stainless steel instead of regular painted steel?
Over the years, factory steel tanks in Patrols can corrode from the inside (condensation, water in the fuel) and from the outside (road salt, mud). Stainless steel eliminates this issue and needs no protective coating or maintenance.
Does anything need to be done to the tank before installation?
Yes. We recommend flushing the inside with extraction petrol to remove any manufacturing residue, then letting it fully evaporate before connecting the fuel system.
How does the 110L tank differ from a 140–150 l expedition tank?
Expedition tanks (e.g. 145–150 l) give more range but usually sit lower, weigh close to 40 kg, and can interfere with the tow bar. The 110L tank is lighter, keeps the original ground clearance and shield, and requires no modifications – a solution for those who simply want to refuel less often without changing the vehicle.
How much extra range do I actually get?
At 12 l/100 km fuel consumption, the extra 15 litres give around 125 km more. At 15 l/100 km (off-road driving, load, larger tyres) – around 100 km more.
