Lightweight, rigid (single-mass, SMF) PMC Clutch flywheel for Honda 1.8 i-VTEC R-series engines: R18A1, R18A2, R18Z1, and R18Z4, installed in the Honda Civic VIII hatchback (FN, FK), Civic VIII sedan (FD, FA), Civic IX hatchback (FK), and Civic IX sedan (FB). The factory R18 flywheel weighs 7.26 kg / 16.01 lbs, whereas the PMC Clutch flywheel weighs only 3.48 kg / 7.67 lbs, delivering a 52% weight reduction. Reduced rotational inertia translates into noticeably faster throttle response and improved acceleration, especially in lower gears, which is immediately felt in the naturally aspirated 1.8 i-VTEC engine. While engine horsepower remains unchanged, parasitic drivetrain losses are reduced, delivering slightly more power to the wheels. Installation Instructions
The PMC Clutch flywheel is installed in place of the factory Honda OE 22100-RNA-003 flywheel, plug & play without an adapter plate and without modifications – the mounting points are identical to the OE flywheel. Flywheel bolts are not included with the product; for installation, use new Honda OE 90011-PNA-B00 bolts and torque them to 118 Nm / 87 lb⋅ft using threadlocker. The flywheel must be matched with a 220 mm / 8.66" clutch designed for the Honda R18 engine – the factory Honda 22300RNA003 pressure plate with 22200RNA003 disc or any aftermarket or custom clutch compatible with OE mountings (example kit numbers are listed in the compatibility table). Prior to installation, we recommend inspecting the condition of the pilot bearing and clutch release mechanism.

No, bolts are not included with the product. Installation requires Honda OE 90011-PNA-B00 bolts, which should be torqued to 118 Nm / 87 lb⋅ft using threadlocker. We recommend using new bolts whenever installing a flywheel.
Does a lightweight flywheel increase gearbox noise?
A single-mass flywheel eliminates factory damping elements; therefore, the operation of gearbox mechanisms may become more audible, especially at idle. This is a natural characteristic of a rigid engine-to-drivetrain connection, widely expected in performance applications, and does not indicate a malfunction.
