The gearbox adapter requires a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel, and for automatic gearboxes – a PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter (not included in the kit).

In the case of an RHD engine (right-hand drive), a starter motor from the LHD version must be used and the plug in the engine block cut out.

Which gearboxes fit the adapter?

Is a flywheel included in the kit?

No. The adapter requires a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel selected for your chosen gearbox. The flywheel (or torque converter adapter for the ZF 8HP transmission) is available separately.

Do I need to cut the gearbox bellhousing?

No. The adapter was designed to avoid cutting the bellhousing – you only need to prepare the clearance hole for the starter motor.

Which starter motor should be used?

BMW M70 / M73 OE starter motor from the LHD version. On an RHD engine, a starter motor from the LHD version must be used and the plug in the engine block cut out. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Does the adapter also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The adapter supports ZF 8HP (8HP45, 8HP50 / 8HP51, 8HP70, 8HP75) and ZF 6HP automatic transmissions. When converting to an automatic transmission, a PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter is used instead of a flywheel.
