Installation Instructions

Installing the flywheel requires using an automatic flexplate (ring gear) Mercedes-Benz OE 112 032 02 47 (not included). Bolt the flywheel to the crankshaft using the supplied bolts torqued to 80 Nm (59 lb⋅ft) with threadlocker applied. Mount the clutch fork on the lower pivot position of the release bearing (if using a dual-position release bearing). A 240 mm clutch disc with 32.5x35-26N splines matching the GS6-53DZ gearbox must be used. The GS6-53DZ HGA (E46 330d) and GS6X53DZ HGB (xDrive) gearboxes bolt to the adapter plate following the exact same pattern as the M57 GS5-39DZ gearbox – refer to the M57 gearbox installation diagram; while HGD, JGA, HGE, and JGB gearboxes follow the M57N diagram. An original Mercedes-Benz M112 / M113 starter motor must be used (OE, not included). The release bearing, clutch fork, and clutch slave cylinder are not included in the kit – they are retained from your gearbox.

Which clutch pressure plate fits the PMC flywheel?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate is universal and fits most BMW transmissions (applies to adapter plates manufactured after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the standard flywheel is simply replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter.

What does the kit include?

Is the included installation manual sufficient for a complete swap?

The manual strictly covers the mechanical mating of the engine and gearbox outside the vehicle chassis. Depending on your chassis, additional custom fabrication may be necessary (engine mounts, crossmembers, firewall modification, transmission tunnel clearance, driveshaft length). Professional installation is strongly advised.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel delivers immediate, uncompromising throttle response at the expense of eliminating OEM damping elements. This creates a much more direct drivetrain connection, which may result in a noticeable increase in transmission gear chatter and drivetrain noise. This is a normal and expected characteristic in performance and motorsport applications resulting from rigid drivetrain coupling.
