Installation Instructions

For flywheel installation, it is required to use the automatic flexplate / starter ring gear Mercedes-Benz M104, OE 111-030-07-12 (not included). Install the clutch release fork in the lower release bearing position (in case of a two-position bearing). For adapter installation, use an original Mercedes-Benz M104 starter motor (OE).

No. The adapter is designed to avoid cutting the bellhousing – you only need to prepare an opening for the starter motor.

You also need: a 240 mm pressure plate and clutch disc, release bearing, clutch fork, and clutch slave cylinder specific to your gearbox, as well as an original Mercedes-Benz M104 starter motor (OE). These parts are not included in the kit.

Which clutch pressure plate fits the PMC flywheel?

A 240 mm (9.45") BMW OE style pressure plate – from BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 (including stock GS6-53DZ pressure plate) / N54 / B58 / E46 M3 or Sachs Performance 883082.001243, as well as Sachs XTend 3000 951 952 (M57N / M57N2) and Sachs XTend 3000 951 949 (N54 / N55). ACT / Spec / Tanaci clutches are also commonly used – custom pressure plates must fit BMW OE flywheels (M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58). A clutch disc with the appropriate spline for your gearbox, a dedicated release system, and a clutch slave cylinder must be used for your setup.

Does the adapter plate also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes (applies to adapter plates manufactured after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the standard flywheel must be replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter.

What does the kit include?

Aluminum gearbox adapter plate with mounting bolts, custom PMC Motorsport flywheel with replaceable friction surface, crankshaft bolts, and pressure plate bolts. Clutch, release bearing, clutch fork, and slave cylinder are not included in the kit – they must be selected to match your gearbox.
