The PMC Motorsport flywheel is made of aluminum and features a replaceable friction surface. Every flywheel is inspected and dynamically balanced prior to shipping. It is designed for a 240 mm (9.45") BMW OE type clutch pressure plate from the GS6-53DZ. This rigid single-mass flywheel (SMF) delivers sharp and immediate engine throttle response.

Installation manual

The flywheel requires the use of the PMC Motorsport F0BMW-K gearbox adapter plate (thickness 20 mm / 0.78"). Installing the flywheel requires genuine Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts (not included in the kit), torqued to 118 Nm (87 lb⋅ft) using medium threadlocker. Mount the clutch fork in the lower position on the release bearing (when using a dual-position release bearing), and replace the original pivot ball with the pivot pin supplied in the kit. The original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor (OE, not included in the kit) must be used.

Which clutch disc should be used?

A 240 mm clutch disc with a 32.5x35-26N spline (26 teeth) for the GS6-53DZ gearbox, e.g. BMW OE 21 20 7 583 172. The clutch disc is not included in the kit.

What parts do I need to purchase separately for installation?

The PMC Motorsport F0BMW-K gearbox adapter plate, Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts, clutch pressure plate and clutch disc, release bearing with 2-position clutch fork (BMW OE 21 51 7 564 027), clutch slave cylinder (BMW OE 21 52 6 775 924 / 21 52 6 785 964 / 21 52 1 158 903 / 21 52 6 766 277), and an original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor. These parts are not included in the kit.

Does the PMC flywheel need additional balancing?

Every PMC Motorsport flywheel is balanced prior to shipping. When assembling with custom aftermarket clutch kits, an additional balance check of the entire assembly is recommended.

Can I purchase only the flywheel or individual components?

Yes. Every component of our kits can be purchased separately.

Does the price include customs duty for shipments outside the European Union?

No. The product price and shipping quote do not include customs clearance fees, import duties, or local taxes that may apply in the recipient's country.

Can I purchase with 0% VAT?

Is the included manual sufficient to complete the installation?

The manual covers mating the engine to the transmission outside the vehicle chassis. Depending on your car chassis, additional custom modifications may be required: engine mounts, crossmembers, firewall clearance, transmission tunnel modifications, driveshaft sizing. We strongly recommend professional installation.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel delivers uncompromising throttle response by eliminating factory dual-mass damping components. This results in a more direct drivetrain connection, which can naturally increase the audible operating noises of the transmission gears. This is a normal and sought-after characteristic in performance and motorsport applications resulting from the rigid mechanical connection between the engine and the drivetrain.
