The gearbox adapter plate requires the use of a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel matched to the chosen gearbox – in this kit, a flywheel designed for a BMW 240 mm pressure plate paired with the ZF GS6-53BZ gearbox. To install the flywheel, Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts are required (not included), tightened to 118 Nm (87 lb⋅ft) using threadlocker. The clutch release bearing and clutch fork remain from your gearbox – mount the clutch fork on the lower position of the release bearing (if using a dual-position bearing), and replace the original pivot pin with the custom pivot pin included in the kit. To mount the adapter, use the original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor (OE, not included).

Does the gearbox bellhousing need to be cut?

No. The adapter is designed to eliminate the need for cutting the bellhousing – only a cutout for the starter motor needs to be prepared.

What additional parts do I need to purchase for installation?

Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts, clutch release bearing, clutch fork, and clutch slave cylinder dedicated to your gearbox, as well as the original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor (OE). These parts are not included in the kit.

Is the kit suitable for daily driving?

The Race Stage 1 kit with a sintered clutch disc is designed primarily for motorsport – engagement is firmer and less progressive than with an organic disc. For a vehicle used mainly as a daily driver, we recommend the Stage 1 kit with the Sachs XTend clutch.

Can I use a different clutch?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport flywheel is designed for a 240 mm BMW OE style pressure plate – from BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 (including the factory GS6-53DZ gearbox pressure plate) / N54 / B58 / E46 M3 or Sachs Performance 883082.001243. ACT / Spec / Tanaci clutches are also commonly used – any aftermarket pressure plate must fit a BMW OE flywheel (M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58).

Which starter motor should be used?

Original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor (OE). The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Does the adapter also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes (applies to adapters produced after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the standard flywheel must be replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter.

What does the kit include?

Is the included manual sufficient for installation?

The manual covers mating the engine to the gearbox outside the chassis. Depending on the car, additional modifications may be required: engine mounts, bushings, firewall, transmission tunnel, driveshaft length. We recommend professional installation.
