Ultralight Race flywheel designed for 184 mm (7.25") STEP type clutches, and the kit includes a matched Tilton OT-II Cerametallic 7.25" 66-302 HGG pressure plate and two Tilton 64185-8-VV-55 sintered clutch discs with 32.5x35-26N spline for the GS6-53DZ gearbox. Adapter thickness: 20 mm (0.78"). The small clutch diameter and low mass of the assembly provide lightning-fast throttle response.

Installation manual

The gearbox adapter plate requires the use of a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel – in this kit, it is the Ultralight Race 184 mm (7.25") STEP type flywheel matched to the ZF GS6-53DZ gearbox. To install the flywheel, Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts are required (not included), which should be tightened to 118 Nm (87 lb⋅ft) using threadlocker. Mount the clutch fork on the lower release bearing position (in the case of a dual-position bearing), and shorten the gearbox guide tube – as shown in the graphics below. To mount the adapter plate, use the original Honda K20 / K24 starter motor (OE, not included).

Do I need to cut the gearbox bellhousing?

No. The adapter plate is designed to eliminate the need to cut the bellhousing – you only need to prepare a clearance notch/opening for the starter motor.

What parts do I need to purchase separately for installation?

Honda OE 90011-RBD-000 crankshaft bolts, release bearing, clutch fork, and clutch slave cylinder dedicated to your gearbox, and the original Honda K20 / K24 (OE) starter motor. These parts are not included in the kit.

Do I need to modify the gearbox?

Yes. When installing a 184 mm clutch, the gearbox guide tube must be shortened. The procedure is shown in the graphic in the "Installation manual" section.

Is the kit suitable for daily driving?

No. The Race Stage 2 kit with Tilton competition clutch is designed for motorsport and drifting. For a vehicle used as a daily driver, we recommend the adapter version with a flywheel for the BMW 240 mm pressure plate.

Which starter motor should be used?

The original Honda K20 / K24 (OE) starter motor. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Does the adapter plate also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW transmissions (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the standard flywheel is replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter.

What does the kit include?

Yes. Every component of the kit is available separately – including the adapter plate with Ultralight Race 184 mm STEP flywheel, without clutch.

Is the installation manual provided with the kit sufficient?

The manual describes mating the engine and gearbox outside the vehicle body. Depending on the car chassis, additional modifications may be required: mounts, bushings, firewall clearance, transmission tunnel shaping, driveshaft length adjustments. We recommend installation by professionals.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel provides uncompromising throttle response at the expense of eliminating factory damping elements. This results in more direct drivetrain operation, which may naturally increase gear rollover noise from transmission mechanisms. This is a normal, desired characteristic in motorsport vehicles resulting from the rigid mechanical connection between the engine and drivetrain.
