Adapter plate allowing the connection (swap / conversion) of the Toyota / Lexus V8 UZ 1UZ-FE 3UZ-FE engine with the modern 8-speed automatic transmission ZF 8HP (ZF Friedrichshafen) from BMW – 8HP50 / 8HP51, 8HP70, 8HP75, and 8HP76, in both RWD and xDrive versions. The adapter plate is designed for ZF 8HP transmissions with a small bellhousing and a torque converter mounted with 6 bolts. The kit includes an aluminum gearbox adapter plate and a reinforced torque converter adapter with a starter ring gear.

The aluminum gearbox adapter plate has been engineered to make installing the ZF 8HP transmission as straightforward as possible. The reinforced torque converter adapter with starter ring gear (included in the kit) mates the UZ crankshaft directly to the torque converter of your ZF 8HP transmission – an OEM automatic flexplate is not required. The zinc-plated starter ring gear features hardness and durability identical to OE. Gearbox adapter plate thickness: 20 mm (0.78").

Installation should be carried out by professionals with expertise in engine swaps and vehicle modifications – in specialized workshops using properly adapted tools.
The adapter installation manual covers only the basic knowledge required to physically mate the engine to the gearbox outside the vehicle chassis.
Depending on your specific vehicle, additional modifications may be required, such as: adjusting mounts, engine bushings, firewall, transmission tunnel, driveshaft length, etc.
Our adapter plates are made from fully recyclable materials.
Installation manual
Mount the gearbox adapter plate to the engine block first. Fasten the reinforced torque converter adapter with starter ring gear (included in the kit) to the crankshaft using the supplied bolts to a torque of 72 Nm (53.1 lb⋅ft) with threadlocker, and then bolt it to the torque converter of your ZF 8HP transmission (6 converter bolts).
To mount the adapter plate, use the original Toyota UZ starter motor (OE, not included).

How is the ZF 8HP torque converter connected to the Toyota / Lexus UZ engine?
Using the reinforced PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter with starter ring gear included in the kit. The converter adapter bolts directly to the UZ crankshaft, then connects to the torque converter of your ZF 8HP transmission. An OEM automatic flexplate is not needed.
What additional parts do I need to purchase for installation?
