PMC Motorsport Clutch Kit for BMW F20 M140i F22 M240i / F30 340i F32 440i B58 - Rigid / Lightweight Flywheel + Sachs XTend 3000 951 949
Planning to increase power in your BMW B58 engine? This kit is for you! Complete clutch kit, rigid / lightweight aluminum flywheel, and Sachs XTend 3000 951 949 (pressure plate, organic clutch disc, and release module). Maximum Torque 650Nm / 479.25lb⋅ft
The lower inertia of the lightweight SMF flywheel results in significantly better and faster throttle response, improving the car's acceleration. Although engine power does not increase, drivetrain losses are reduced, translating to slightly higher power at the wheels. Lightweight flywheels perform exceptionally well on twisty tracks, as the car regains speed lost in corners much faster.

Application:
- Drift / Time Attack: Where precise control over engine RPM is key.
- Street Tuning: For enthusiasts who want to eliminate the failure-prone dual-mass flywheel and feel a more sporty characteristic of their car.
- Motorsport: Wherever every second and every kilogram of weight reduction matters for the final result.
Advantages of a Lightweight Flywheel:
- Instant Throttle Response: Reduction of rotating mass allows the engine to rev up much faster, improving dynamics during gear changes and overtaking.
- Increased Durability in Sports: Made from the highest quality aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, the flywheel is resistant to extreme temperatures and loads that could damage a factory dual-mass flywheel.
- Replaceable Friction Surface: Thanks to the use of a replaceable steel friction plate, the flywheel is a solution for years – when worn, you only replace the insert, not the entire element.
- Ease of Installation (Bolt-on / P&P): Designed for factory mounting points, guaranteeing full compatibility with the stock pressure plate and starter without the need for modifications.
Weight - When designing our flywheels, we pay great attention to their mass – PMC flywheels are created for both tuning enthusiasts and those building cars for motorsport, which is why choosing the right mass is so important.
- Inertia vs. Acceleration. The flywheel stores kinetic energy. The heavier it is, the more energy is needed to set it in motion. If too light, the engine revs up instantly, which is desirable in sports, but also drops RPM just as quickly. This can make smooth gear changes difficult in daily use. Properly selected mass allows for faster throttle response while maintaining enough energy for the engine to operate correctly after releasing the accelerator pedal.
- Idle Stability. A lightweight flywheel has less capacity to dampen engine irregularities (especially in 3- or 4-cylinder units). If the weight is too low, the engine may idle unevenly, jerk, or even stall during sudden declutching. The right mass provides an "inertia buffer" that maintains crankshaft rotation between the power strokes of individual pistons.
- Ease of Starting (Torque). A heavy flywheel helps "move" the mass of the entire vehicle from a standstill. With an extremely light flywheel, the driver must apply much more throttle and operate the clutch more precisely to avoid stalling the engine when starting. Proper weight selection allows the car to maintain its civilized character, enabling smooth starts on hills or in traffic.
PMC Flywheel Specification
Years of experience in motorsport
Thousands of manufactured parts and satisfied customers worldwide. PMC Motorsport products are used in both Daily drivers and professional projects intended for competitive motorsport.
Designed and manufactured in Poland
From the beginning, we focus on the quality of the parts we produce. Each production stage is carefully inspected. Every component we manufacture is engraved with a unique production serial number. Quality is confirmed by the ISO PN-EN ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
!!! 61.11% Lighter than OE flywheel !! Only 6.34kg / 13.98lb – that's approx. 9.96kg / 21.96lb less than the factory flywheel !!!
- Compatibility: Custom PMC flywheels are designed to work with OE BMW clutch kits or their replacements matching the OE flywheel.
- Replaceable friction surface: The friction surface of the PMC flywheel ensures durability and long-term operation. In case of wear, it is easy to disassemble, and the replacement part is available in our offer.
- Original starter ring gear: Zinc-plated ring gear, with hardness identical to OE flywheels, ensuring reliability and full cooperation with the OE starter.
- Balanced before shipping: Every PMC flywheel is inspected and precisely balanced before shipping. If you are using a used or custom clutch kit, we recommend re-balancing the entire assembly.

Clutch Specification
Sachs – Original Equipment Quality
SACHS parts are manufactured using high-quality materials and the best available technology. This is why many car manufacturers equip their vehicles with SACHS products: every year, over 10 million new vehicles equipped with SACHS vibration dampers and shock absorbers leave the production lines.
Furthermore, the SACHS brand offers high-quality clutches for both original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket.
Organic Clutch Disc – Smoothness and Reliability
The organic clutch disc is the ideal solution for drivers seeking everyday driving comfort and excellent modulation. Thanks to high-quality composite linings (a mixture of glass fibers, resins, and metals), this product provides the perfect balance between durability and smooth drivetrain operation.

It is worth remembering that a lightweight flywheel provides uncompromising throttle response at the expense of eliminating factory damping elements. This translates into a more direct drivetrain operation, which may result in a natural increase in the audibility of gearbox mechanisms. This is a desirable characteristic in performance vehicles, resulting from a rigid connection between the engine and the drive.
