Complete Stage 1 clutch kit designed to mate (swap / conversion) the Nissan SR20 (SR20DE / SR20DET) engine with the ZF GS6-37DZ 6-speed manual gearbox sourced from BMW diesel M47N / M47N2 models (incl. E46 320d, E87 118d / 120d, E90 / E91 318d / 320d, E60 / E61 520d), as well as its GS6X37DZ xDrive all-wheel drive version. The kit includes a gearbox adapter plate, a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel, and a LuK 624 3158 10 clutch kit – self-adjusting pressure plate (SAC) LuK 124 0336 10, organic clutch disc LuK 324 0336 10 with 26.5x29-22N spline, and LuK 514 0002 10 release kit (release bearing with clutch fork). Aluminum gearbox adapter plate engineered to simplify transmission installation as much as possible, eliminating radical modifications such as cutting off the bellhousing – only preparing the starter motor opening is required. Custom flywheels dedicated to PMC Motorsport adapters are machined from aluminum with a replaceable friction surface, fully inspected and balanced prior to dispatch. Flywheel engineered for a 240 mm pressure plate (GS5-39DZ / GS6-53DZ / BZ BMW OE). Adapter thickness: 20 mm (0.78").

PMC Motorsport adapter installation instructions

The adapter installation manual provides the foundational instructions necessary to mate the engine to the transmission outside the vehicle body.

Depending on the specific chassis, additional modifications may be required, such as custom engine mounts, gearbox crossmember adaptation, firewall clearance, transmission tunnel modifications, propshaft shortening/lengthening, etc.

Installation Instructions

Torque the flywheel to the crankshaft using the supplied bolts to 72 Nm (53.1 lb⋅ft) with high-strength threadlocker. Mount the clutch release fork from the LuK kit on the lower pivot position of the release bearing (if using a dual-position release bearing). An original Nissan SR20 starter motor (OE, not included) must be used to mount the adapter plate.

Which engines is this kit compatible with?

With Nissan SR20 engines in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configurations: SR20DE and SR20DET.

Which gearboxes does the kit fit?

With the 6-speed manual ZF GS6-37DZ transmission from BMW M47N / M47N2 diesel models in THES and TJEM versions (incl. E46 320d / 320Cd, E87 118d / 120d, E90 / E91 318d / 320d, E60 / E61 520d), as well as the ZF GS6X37DZ xDrive transmission. The clutch disc must have a 26.5x29-22N spline (GS6-37DZ / BZ).

Does the gearbox bellhousing require cutting?

No. The adapter is specifically designed to eliminate cutting the bellhousing – only preparing the starter clearance opening is necessary.

What additional components are required for complete installation?

A clutch slave cylinder dedicated to your gearbox and an original Nissan SR20 starter motor (see question below). These parts are not included in the kit.

Which clutch is included in the package?

A LuK 624 3158 10 clutch kit (alternative to Sachs 3000 951 933) with a 240 mm (9.45") diameter: self-adjusting clutch pressure plate (SAC) LuK 124 0336 10, organic clutch disc LuK 324 0336 10 with a 26.5x29-22N spline (GS6-37DZ / BZ), 22 teeth, and LuK 514 0002 10 release kit (release bearing with clutch fork). This is a factory BMW OE solution used, among others, in BMW models with M47N2 / N47 / N52 / N53 engines.

What is the torque rating of the Stage 1 kit?

The maximum torque capacity of the kit is approx. 500 Nm (369 lb⋅ft). For higher power outputs, we recommend a stronger pressure plate, e.g. Sachs Performance 883082.001243 with a sintered clutch disc.

Can I run an alternative clutch pressure plate?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport flywheel is engineered to accept BMW OE 240 mm pressure plates – from BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / E46 M3 or Sachs Performance 883082.001243. High-performance aftermarket clutches from ACT, Spec, or Tanaci can also be fitted, provided the custom pressure plate matches the BMW OE flywheel pattern (M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58).

Which starter motor must be used?

An original Nissan SR20 (OE) starter motor. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Is this adapter compatible with the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW transmissions (applies to adapters produced after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the manual flywheel is replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter plate.

What is included in the kit?

Aluminum gearbox adapter plate with mounting hardware, custom PMC Motorsport flywheel with replaceable friction surface, crankshaft bolts, pressure plate mounting bolts, pivot pin – BMW OE 21 51 1 223 328 replacement – and LuK 624 3158 10 clutch kit (pressure plate, disc, release bearing with clutch fork).

Can I purchase only the adapter plate or only the flywheel?

Yes. Every individual part of the kit is available separately – including the adapter plate paired with the custom flywheel, without the clutch assembly.

Does the price include customs duty for shipments outside the European Union?

No. The product price and shipping quote do not cover import customs duties, tariffs, or local import taxes assessed by the destination country.

Can I place an order with 0% VAT?

Yes, if you are a registered B2B customer outside Poland holding an active EU VAT number (validated via the VIES system), or if your order is being exported outside the European Union.

Is the included installation manual sufficient to complete the conversion?

The manual details the mechanical mating of the engine and transmission outside the vehicle body. Depending on the vehicle platform, additional custom fabrication may be necessary: custom engine mounts, bushings, firewall adjustments, transmission tunnel modification, propshaft balancing and length alteration. Professional installation is highly recommended.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel provides razor-sharp throttle response at the expense of eliminating factory dual-mass damping elements. This yields a much more direct drivetrain connection, which may result in an audible increase in transmission gear chatter. This is a normal, inherent, and often desirable operational characteristic in competition and motorsport vehicles.
