Complete Drift Stage 1 clutch kit designed to mate (swap / conversion) the Mercedes-Benz M112 V6 (2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 3.2, 3.7) or M113 V8 (4.3, 5.0, 5.4, and 5.4 Kompressor) engine with the ZF GS5-39DZ 5-speed manual gearbox sourced from BMW diesel M57 models (E39 525d / 530d, E46 330d). The kit includes a gearbox adapter plate, a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel, a BMW 240 mm clutch pressure plate without self-adjustment (non-SAC), a 240 mm organic clutch disc with 28x35-10N spline, and a clutch release module (release bearing with clutch fork). The maximum torque capacity of the kit is 650 Nm (479 lb⋅ft). Custom flywheels dedicated to PMC Motorsport adapters are machined from aluminum with a replaceable friction surface, fully inspected and balanced prior to dispatch. Parts are designed for professional installation by technicians experienced in engine swaps and vehicle modifications – in dedicated workshop environments with appropriate specialized tools.

The adapter installation manual provides the foundational instructions necessary to mate the engine to the transmission outside the vehicle body.

Depending on the specific chassis, additional modifications may be required, such as custom engine mounts, gearbox crossmember adaptation, firewall clearance, transmission tunnel modifications, propshaft shortening/lengthening, etc.

Our adapter kits are manufactured from fully recyclable materials.

Installation Instructions

To mount the flywheel, it is necessary to use the automatic flexplate / starter ring gear from the Mercedes-Benz automatic version OE 112 032 02 47 (not included). Crankshaft bolts are included in the kit. An original Mercedes-Benz M112 / M113 starter motor (OE, not included) must be used to mount the adapter plate. Mount the included clutch release fork on the lower pivot position of the release bearing (if using a dual-position release bearing). Gearboxes for petrol engines (ZF-5, Getrag 250G / 420G) and diesel engines (GS5-39DZ) share the same bolt pattern but have a different tilt/mounting angle on the adapter plate – the GS5-39DZ gearbox must be bolted in the dedicated diesel position. If the gearbox sits at an incorrect angle after tightening, reposition and correct the assembly. The release bearing and clutch fork (clutch release module) are included in the kit. The clutch slave cylinder is not included – use a slave cylinder dedicated to your specific gearbox.

Which engines is this kit compatible with?

With Mercedes-Benz M112 V6 (2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 3.2, 3.2 Kompressor, 3.7) and M113 V8 (4.3, 5.0, 5.4, M113K 5.4 Kompressor) engines that utilize the automatic starter flexplate / ring gear Mercedes-Benz OE 112 032 02 47. Because these engines were manufactured with two distinct flexplate versions, please verify the part number on your engine before ordering.

Which gearboxes does the kit fit?

With the 5-speed manual ZF GS5-39DZ transmission from BMW M57 diesel models in THBA, THBC, THBG, THBK, and THBM configurations (E39 525d / 530d, E46 330d). The input shaft features a 28x35-10N spline.

Does the gearbox bellhousing require cutting?

No. The adapter is specifically designed to eliminate cutting the bellhousing – only preparing the starter clearance opening is necessary.

What additional components are required for complete installation?

A clutch slave cylinder dedicated to your gearbox, an automatic starter flexplate Mercedes-Benz OE 112 032 02 47, and an original Mercedes-Benz M112 / M113 starter motor (see question below). These parts are not included in the kit.

Which clutch is included in the package?

A BMW 240 mm (9.45") clutch pressure plate without self-adjustment and a 240 mm sprung organic clutch disc with a 28x35-10N spline (10 teeth) for the ZF GS5-39DZ gearbox. The kit is completed by a clutch release module (release bearing with clutch fork).

What is the torque rating of the Drift Stage 1 kit?

The maximum torque capacity of this kit is 650 Nm (479 lb⋅ft).

Can I run an alternative clutch pressure plate?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport flywheel is engineered to accept BMW OE 240 mm pressure plates – from BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / E46 M3 or Sachs Performance 883082.001243. High-performance aftermarket clutches from ACT, Spec, or Tanaci can also be fitted, provided the custom pressure plate matches the BMW OE flywheel pattern (M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58). For the GS5-39DZ gearbox, you must use a 240 mm clutch disc with a 28x35-10N spline.

Which starter motor must be used?

An original Mercedes-Benz M112 / M113 (OE) starter motor. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Can I use this adapter with a 6-speed GS6-53DZ / GS6-53BZ gearbox?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport adapter plate itself is universal and fits the majority of BMW gearboxes (applies to adapters produced after 2022). If you switch to another BMW gearbox in the future, you only need to change the flywheel and clutch disc.

Is this adapter compatible with the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter plate itself is universal and fits most BMW transmissions (applies to adapters produced after 2022). When converting to a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, the manual flywheel is replaced with a PMC Motorsport 8HP torque converter adapter plate.

What is included in the kit?

Can I purchase only the adapter plate or only the flywheel?

Yes. Every individual part of the kit is available separately – including the adapter plate paired with the custom flywheel, without the clutch assembly.

Does the price include customs duty for shipments outside the European Union?

No. The product price and shipping quote do not cover import customs duties, tariffs, or local import taxes assessed by the destination country.

Can I place an order with 0% VAT?

Is the included installation manual sufficient to complete the conversion?

The manual details the mechanical mating of the engine and transmission outside the vehicle body. Depending on the vehicle platform, additional custom fabrication may be necessary: custom engine mounts, bushings, firewall adjustments, transmission tunnel modification, propshaft balancing and length alteration. Professional installation is highly recommended.

Please note that a lightweight single-mass flywheel provides razor-sharp throttle response at the expense of eliminating factory dual-mass damping elements. This yields a much more direct drivetrain connection, which may result in an audible increase in transmission gear chatter. This is a normal, inherent, and often desirable operational characteristic in competition and motorsport vehicles.
