Purpose-built for compatible Mitsubishi EVO IV-VIII models with a manual transmission, the G4X EVO8X Plug-In ECU is designed to fit directly into the factory ECU location using the original mounting points, wiring harness and connectors. For supported vehicles, installation requires no modifications to the original engine wiring harness. Most factory functions are supported, depending on the vehicle and configuration. The ECU includes a startup map that must be checked and calibrated for the specific engine before starting it. This solution provides a simple and reliable installation while maintaining the factory appearance of the wiring.
Link G4X Plug-In ECUs use the same processor, firmware, configuration software and standard G4X feature set available across the entire range. Features include dual CAN buses, Flex Fuel support, flexible engine protection limiters, CAN keypad control, open-loop and closed-loop boost control, dual closed-loop lambda control, VVT control, a built-in trigger oscilloscope, compatibility with aftermarket displays, direct automatic transmission control and 512 MB of built-in data logging memory. The ECU also features a built-in MAP sensor.
Automatic transmission compatibility: The ability to control an automatic transmission depends on the specific application and may require additional wiring and configuration. This does not imply Plug-In compatibility with vehicles originally equipped with an automatic transmission. The EVO8X is intended as a direct Plug-In replacement only for the listed manual transmission applications.
Based on Link's award-winning G4X motorsport platform, the EVO8X also supports advanced tuning and motorsport features such as Nitrous Control, Launch Control, Anti-Lag, Cruise Control, Traction Control, Race Timer and Power Management, Gear Shift Control and Paddle Shift Control. The availability and use of individual features depend on the vehicle, wiring and ECU configuration.
The Link Plug-In ECU is an ideal solution for compatible vehicles with electrical systems in good condition, providing modern engine management without the need for the extensive wiring associated with Wire-In ECUs.

- The ECU is intended for Plug-In installation only in the listed manual transmission applications.
- Vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission are not covered by the stated Plug-In compatibility. Any potential application involving automatic transmission control requires individual verification.
- Mitsubishi EVO 8 models with a factory 3-connector ECU require the EVO9X ECU.
- The unit features a built-in MAP sensor.

- An expansion connector is required to use the E-Throttle function.
