The flywheel is made of aluminum and cast iron and is fully recyclable.

! Custom flywheel requires the use of a ring gear / flywheel from a Toyota JZ automatic - not included in the set!

FAQ

1. Which starter should be used with the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW adapter?

For mounting the adapter, use a **Toyota JZ starter without an additional pinion cover**. Depending on the version of the Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW adapter you have, there are three ways to mount the starter:

a) Adapters manufactured up to 2022 - The starter is mounted identically to the original equipment (OE).

b) Adapters manufactured from 2022 to 2025 - One of the starter mounting holes in the engine block must be enlarged. The hole should be drilled to a diameter of ∅12.9-13.2 mm (0.507"-0.520") to a depth of 22 mm (0.866"). Then, use the sleeve from kit AN 335-M10 and fasten with screw ISO4762-M10x35.

c) Adapters manufactured from January 2025 - The lower mounting hole in the starter must be enlarged to a diameter of ∅12-13 mm and the engine block threaded to M12x1.5.

2. Which ring gear should be used with the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW flywheel?

When installing the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW flywheel, you should use the ring gear (flywheel) from the automatic version of Toyota 1JZ / 2JZ (OE part number: 32101-30090 | 32101-22050) and one Toyota spacer washer (OE part number: 32116-22020) with a thickness of 4.5 mm between the engine block and the ring gear.

3. Can I use the PMC Motorsport Toyota 1JZ 2JZ - BMW gearbox adapter for ZF 8HP?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change the gearbox to an automatic ZF 8HP gearbox, you should replace the standard flywheel with an 8HP converter adapter (PMC Motorsport).

4. Which clutch can I use with the PMC Motorsport flywheel?

The Toyota 1JZ 2JZ - BMW GS6-53 flywheel is designed for a clutch pressure plate from BMW M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / Sachs Performance 883082.001243. Clutches from ACT / Spec / Tanaci are often used with our kit (it is important that the custom clutch pressure plate also fits a BMW OE flywheel: BMW M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58). For your gearbox, you should use a clutch disc with the appropriate spline, a dedicated clutch release kit, and a slave cylinder.
