The flywheel has been manufactured from aluminum and cast iron and is fully recyclable.

! Custom flywheel requires the use of a ring gear / flywheel from a Toyota JZ automatic transmission - not included in the kit!

FAQ

1. What starter should be used with the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW adapter?

For mounting the adapter, a **Toyota JZ starter without an additional pinion cover** should be used. Depending on the version of the Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW adapter you have, there are three ways to mount the starter:

a) Adapters manufactured until 2022 - The starter is mounted identically to the original equipment (OE).

b) Adapters manufactured from 2022 to 2025 - One of the starter mounting holes in the engine block must be enlarged. The hole should be drilled to a diameter of $\varnothing$12.9-13.2 mm (0.507"-0.520") to a depth of 22 mm (0.866"). Then, use the sleeve from the AN 335-M10 kit and fasten with an ISO4762-M10x35 screw.

c) Adapters manufactured from January 2025 - The lower mounting hole in the starter must be enlarged to a diameter of $\varnothing$12-13 mm and the engine block threaded to M12x1.5.

2. What ring gear should be used for the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW flywheel?

When installing the PMC Motorsport Toyota JZ 1JZ 2JZ - BMW flywheel, the **ring gear (flywheel) from the automatic version of Toyota 1JZ / 2JZ** (OE number: 32101-30090 | 32101-22050) should be used, along with one Toyota spacer washer (OE number: 32116-22020) with a thickness of 4.5 mm between the engine block and the ring gear.

3. The GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearbox does not fit into all the holes of the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter.

(Applies to adapters manufactured after 2022) The PMC Motorsport adapter is the most universal adapter available on the market, supporting practically every BMW gearbox. When designing the adapter, we decided on some compromises. This is the case with GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearboxes, where **the two upper holes in the gearbox housing/bell housing must be slightly ground**. This modification does not affect the centering of the engine and gearbox.

4. Can I use the gearbox adapter for the 6-speed GS6-53DZ / GS6-53BZ gearbox?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change the gearbox, simply replace the flywheel and clutch disc.

5. Can I use the PMC Motorsport Toyota 1JZ 2JZ - BMW gearbox adapter for ZF 8HP?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change to a ZF 8HP automatic gearbox, you need to replace the standard flywheel with an 8HP converter adapter (PMC Motorsport).

6. What clutch can I use with the PMC Motorsport flywheel?

The Toyota 1JZ 2JZ - BMW ZF5 flywheel has been designed for the following clutch pressure plate: **Tilton OT-II Cerametallic 7.25" 184mm 66-302 xxx twin-disc / 66-003 xxx triple-disc**, xxx - indicates spring stiffness, **!Pressure plates must be STEP type!**. You can also use other custom 7.25" pressure plates with identical dimensions as the Tilton ones mentioned above. For your gearbox, you need to use a clutch disc with the appropriate spline, a dedicated release bearing kit, and a clutch slave cylinder. You also need to shorten the main shaft guide tube of the gearbox.
