Aluminum adapter plate enabling the connection (swap / conversion) of the Mercedes-Benz M104 / OM605 / OM606 engine with a manual or automatic ZF (ZF Friedrichshafen) gearbox from BMW. The adapter supports 6-speed manual gearboxes GS6-53BZ (BMW N54), GS6-53DZ (BMW M57N / M57N2 / N57 / N47), and GS6-45DZ, as well as automatic gearboxes ZF 6HP and ZF 8HP (8HP45 / 8HP50 / 8HP51 / 8HP70 / 8HP75).

The aluminum gearbox adapter plate was designed to simplify gearbox installation as much as possible, avoiding radical steps like cutting off the entire bellhousing – only the starter motor clearance needs to be prepared. The adapter requires a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel matched to the chosen gearbox (sold separately).

The adapter installation manual contains only basic knowledge necessary to physically connect the engine with the gearbox outside the car body.

Depending on your specific car, additional modifications may be required, such as adjusting mounts, engine/gearbox mounts, firewall, transmission tunnel, driveshaft length, etc.

We manufacture our adapters using fully recyclable materials.

Installation instructions

The gearbox adapter requires a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel matched to the chosen gearbox (not included in the kit).

Is a flywheel included in the kit?

No. The adapter requires a custom PMC Motorsport flywheel selected for your chosen gearbox. The flywheel (or torque converter adapter for the ZF 8HP transmission) is available separately.

Do I need to cut the gearbox bellhousing?

No. The adapter was designed to avoid cutting the bellhousing – you only need to prepare the clearance hole for the starter motor.

Which starter motor should be used?

Mercedes-Benz M104 / OM605 / OM606 OE starter motor. The starter motor is not included in the kit.

Does the adapter also fit the ZF 8HP automatic transmission?

Yes. The adapter supports ZF 8HP (8HP45, 8HP50 / 8HP51, 8HP70, 8HP75) and ZF 6HP automatic transmissions. When converting to an automatic transmission, a PMC Motorsport torque converter adapter is used instead of a flywheel.

Does the price include customs duty for shipments outside the European Union?

No. The product price and shipping estimate do not include customs duties or additional fees that may apply in the recipient's country.
